Behold, the rise of the flaming trinity Come forth high priestess of impurity Dwellers of the deeps of the Painking Sea Glory, glory, Armageddon Chant damnations hymns Glory, glory, Armageddon This is how it all begins
2.
The damned earth comet under star-spangled sky As the sounds of destruction increase Tongues of red fire snatch black clouds Above and unite with the cold Northern breeze A massive veil of flames raise high Over the mountains, burning clouds fill up the sky Along vast hills liquid fires brim over Tonight Hell's jaws are open wide Over the skyline Approaching at high speed Objects of flames reaching higher Crossing the sky at Hell's wicked pace Comes a thousand Chariots of Fire Chariots emerge Spreading pure hell on earth as they pass over water and land All living to ashes burn All creatures alive they turn They die as they stand Vast hills on fire Thick smoke dark sight Ashes and death everywhere Covered with ashes the bleak world Lies dead as the chariots emerge the poisoned air Over the skyline Approaching at high speed Objects of flame reaching higher Crossing the sky at Hell's wicked pace Comes a thousand Chariots of Fire

They speak In the garden of the prophet Divine madness The order of the cosmic immoral For what is humanity If not forlorn And crawling on my hands and knees When the moment sings For I have read the signs, I have solved the riddle of eternal life The Jinnah have spoken For I have read all of the signs And I have solved the riddle of eternal life
4.
She came from the water Bold and beautiful Mighty sorceress from below
5.
An unknown voice called From the tower where no one lived From beyond the forest Where nothing lived A shout in the dream so sweet Like the voice of the queen of night We awoke and saw the moon Partly covered by gloomy skies It was cold and wet On our journey in to that realm By unborn thoughts We could finally tell Because we followed the voice tonight

When all you take for granted is fake And the angles are on the make You fear the silence, You feel it when you hate, cause What you don't feel now will hurt you in hell I'm straightening sharks in heaven

about

Frances J. Downey (Gray Witch) gave me the idea to reimagine Black Metal songs after introducing me to the genre. Having never listened to it before, I was thrilled! To me, it had an initial unpalatability I'd experienced with bands like Throbbing Gristle or books by Kathy Acker. Even better, almost every song I heard had these wildly fun-borderline embarrassingly feral-lyrics about evil, destruction, and killing ogres. It was like everything my preteen self imagined when I heard priests reading from The Book of Revelation or talking about The Devil during mass!

After picking songs to rescore, I recorded and exported them the easiest way possible on my deteriorating Tascam 424MKII. These versions are not how they were originally imagined or mixed, but I wanted to share them anyway. Having taken sharing music too seriously when I was younger, I'm excited to build a new blithe relationship to sharing what I make. One that embraces humor, joy, and error.

And finally, I thought I'd share a definition of the album's title. Iconoclasm is "the action of attacking or assertively rejecting cherished beliefs and institutions or established values and practices" (Oxford English Dictionary).
